The Choice of No Abstentions – Awakening to The Soul/Sole

There is a general belief that we have a Soul, or some form of existence/awareness, before life, and after life, yet during life we are given the impression by society and religion that it is ‘off on holiday’ somewhere and is somehow unavailable until we die.  This is complete nonsense and is one of the greatest lies ever perpetrated to humanity.

This awareness, this beingness, which, for want of a better term I shall call Soul awareness, but which could equally be called Sole Awareness, is our birthright and something we were all born WITH, and something we all regain upon death.  It just seems to be during life that we struggle to reclaim it or realise it.

This puts us all in a bit of a position in our search for this ‘other part’ of us.  It is a position of choice. Looking at it simplistically, we have two options in this choice – race towards death to meet it, or tread what is known as ‘The Path of Return’ to when we first took our forms to reclaim it.

It is one choice we cannot abstain from, so even if you are not aware you have chosen, you still have.  You choose one or the other of the above options – which way have you gone? Fortunately, in this particular choice, you can always change your mind!  You can always give up the path to wholenesss, that of ever-increasing growth and awareness, and simply wait for death, or you can always give up the wait for death and re-engage in the magic that is the mystery of being human and take responsibility for the unspoken challenge of life: to work on ’seeking’ to realise (real-ise=to make real) who and what you are.

The ‘path of return’ is the umbrella term for every single genuine awareness-development system or religion in the world.  This is the return to ‘infant purity’ referred to by many well respected scholar and teachers. All the worlds true systems of personal growth and evolution teach the Path of Return in different forms – they all teach how to undo what we have learnt about the world through our social conditioning so as to ‘clear the way’ for the Light of the Soul to shine through in our daily life.

If you imagine that we are all light bulbs and that with the murk of the illusion of social conditioning upon us (that is, ingrained ideas about the world and what it is to be a human ), the light of the Soul can only shine dimly, if at all, through all that murk.  Yet if we polish that bulb, polish the ‘lens’ that is our body, emotions and mind, then that Light can shine brightly, as it was always meant to.

Deep down, this is actually what we all want! It is the simplest thing of all: to Be Your Self. Yet it is not so simple to achieve! In everyday language we normally say ‘be yourself’ and use it to mean ‘relax and don’t put on any falsities’, but really, this should be ‘Be Your Self’, referring to The Self, The Soul, and it is that that we should be striving to Be.

The path to The Soul (The Sole) is a natural one, and by addressing the root issues which cause us to literally ‘be blinded’ to the truth about what we are, we can reverse the ‘blinding’ process and ‘see the light’ again.

By awakening to the Soul, you awaken to hidden resources within yourself, hidden wonders which will make your life more than you ever thought it could be.

Working on ourselves is the only thing which can change every part of our life, because we are the only constant in every part of our life! All true, and lasting, satisfaction comes from within and you, and only you, can find that satisfaction within yourself, for yourself.

This is the path to unity, to wholeness, to self-awareness and to the sublime and permanent satisfaction we all crave in life.   The aquisition of soul awareness and self-development is the only thing which can deliver this.  The Soul is the Christ within each of us, to draw correlation to religious teachings.  Christ knew he represented the Soul in the Greater Body of The Cosmic Man, so when he spoke, he spoke AS the Soul.  So, ‘no man may enter the kingdom except through me’ was not an arrogance, or a request that all people become Christian.  He was telling us that it is ONLY through the Soul within us that we can ‘enter the kingdom’, and it is there we find peace, wholeness and a supremely satisfying, and relieving, fulfillment of all the spiritual, mental and emotional thirsts and hungers we experience in the world.
