Divinity

Divinity is a powerful word, with an expansive and inclusive meaning.

Yet Divinity, and its general social meaning, usage and understanding, is only the ‘first approach’ to the deeper meaning of this concept.

Using the Science of Sound principles, we can penetrate deeper to the ‘next level’ or ‘next approach’ to the idea that is ‘divinity.’

This is the level of syllables, or ’syllabic molecules’,

Divinity is comprised of two ’syllabic molecules’.  Divi-nity.

When these are looked at in isolation, it appears ‘divi-’ relates to division, or divided-ness, and -nity, while seemingly more obscure, relates to Unity.  This is where the intuitive aspect of this new Science comes in, but with a developed intuition and an understanding of how words work, it becomes easier to spot where certain terms are ‘pointing’.  In this case, understanding words as signposts, as Buddha told us thousands of years ago (and I discovered this before I found out Buddha said it, so its something natural, as I keep saying in the Sound events and talks,) helps greatly.

Thus, we have Division and Unity, or ‘Divided Unity’.  But what use is it? and does it give us any extra understanding?

This represents the second level understanding of this idea, or the second approach.

The idea of divided unity is already in the world in such ideas as ‘united diversity’ and other such forums, but through linking the term directly with ‘divinity’ and all that that means we find much more to this idea.

Divinity is our term for the highest of the high, for the purest and most sublime of states of being, yet there is nothing in the universe that is not divine.  So we have a paradox in terms of us referring to the divine as something outside of, or separate from ourselves, and the reality of its definition, which is based on the premise that Everything in the universe is One Life and One Being, that Being usually referred to as ‘god’, this has to include us.  Therefore there is no thing which isnt ‘divine’.

Our problem isn’t the term, but the way we use it. This is where Divided Unity comes in as a term to help us develop our understanding and resolve the paradox of intellectually knowing that all things are divine, yet not always experiencing it, feeling it, or knowing it in our daily lives.

Consider the sun, the earth and the other planets.  They are clearly in a relationship due to the cycles they go through together, yet there is clear distance between them – they clearly stand divided to our current perception.  Now add humans into the consideration, and the plants, the animals, the rocks and grains of sand.   All of us stand clearly divided in our existence and experience.  All.  Yet within, at a deeper level of self, more and more people are coming to KNOW that somehow, we are all related, unified and connected.

Science is touching on the reality of this with its experience of subatomic particles.  These particles are so small, and move so quickly, that they are never contained, and never stay in one place.  Essentially, within our atoms, there are smaller particles which are constantly changing and exchanging with subatomic particles from elsewhere.  This finding clearly demonstrates a connection and relationship between all atoms in the manifest universe.  This includes all manifest forms, since all are comprised of atoms.

And these public discoveries are only a hint as to the reality and depth of our inner connection.  The truth is far more magnificent and spectacular (but is only verfiable through personal experience for now).

The Sun, you, me, sand, trees, dogs, cats, lions, sheep, fish, water, rocks, planets, galaxies, everything – we all stand in a state of Divided Unity.  We are part divided, but part united.

This is a far easier concept for most of us to grasp than the idea of ‘full unity’.  This is just beyond the imagination of most of us – humans groups still disagree and judge far too much, and are far too intolerant of each other to be able to manifest ‘full unity’ as the next step from our current state of near ‘full division.’ To fully experience unity with the universe and each other at all times?  What on earth would that be like?  Can you imagine?  If you can’t imagine it, then how can you act to bring it about? Yet to relate to our external experience of being divided: in belief; in purpose; in endeavour; in in-divi-duality, with our ever-increasing inner experience of knowing and feeling that we are connected and unified in some way, as a valid expression of divinity, is almost something of a relief.

It means we can stop frenetically and frantically trying to ‘leap’ to unity when really, we are not ready for it at this moment in time, perceptually or in our mass awareness.  What we ARE ready for though, is to resolve the conflict currently in the world which is a result of intolerance to having divided lives and ideals, divided beliefs and practices and so on.  Resolving that is what will bring about unity, and is a far more palatable ’stepping stone’ for our minds and beings, and allows us to focus on developing our sense and expression of unity, through honouring and realising the value of our division.  It is also eminently more practical since it allows us to ’start from where we are’ in moving towards more unfied, inclusive and wholesome living.

Divided Unity is more than just a new understanding of divinity, its a political statement which expresses the innermost desire and intent of most altrusitic movements., just like movement such as United Diversity.  Divided Unity acknowledges and accepts diversity of experience, and of expression.  It allows for co-habitation of beliefs, ideas and endeavours, and comes naturally to us.

Just like the different organs of the body perform different functions for the whole, yet are completely different from one another, so are the various groups of men and women in the world ‘organs’ in the Greater Cosmic Man.  Indeed, we recognise this subconsciously in our language when we gather in groups to perform a specific function – we call it ‘organ-isation’.

Divided Unity is simply a perfect umbrella term for the various efforts made by altrusitic movements and intent of organisations and individuals around the world.  These people have all been trying to express their inner knowing of connection and brotherhood, couple with an inner acceptance of diversity and variety.  They have, in essence, been trying to express their inner grasp and experience of what divinity is rather than its social meaning and usage, which usually refers to something ‘out there’ and distant – the result of the ‘first approach’ to the idea of ‘Divinity’.

These groups efforts have always been to secure basic human rights, basic living conditions and a basic level of good health for all mankind, and this reflects ‘Divided Unity’ well since they act on the knowledge that these things are natural and right.

This is not airy-fairy and ephemeral, like some consider the subject of ‘divinity,’ this is practical, pragmatic and grounded.  It allows for and acknowledges the divinity of our everyday issues, our coarse forms and even our darkest aspects.

The analogy of all humans being part of a Larger Cosmic Human, which is our sum total, is more than an analogy – it is a statement which recognises that inner connection and unity, and a manifestation of the Law Man is the Microcosm of the Macrocosm, and As Above, So Below.  All humans are like cells in a Greater Human, we all represent different functions, different chakras, difference areas of excellence.  Just as the body does.

The events and issues we see in the world are a reflection of what goes on within each of us, and disease and conflict and direct examples.

Consider the starvation of humans in the world, those who are ‘without,’ and consider those who have abundant food and resources.  If we use the analogy of a body, when part of your body is starved due to the resource hoarding of another part of it, what do we call it?  We call it a ‘disease.’  This is the same in the Cosmic Man, the behaviour of certain human groups has caused, and continues to cause, the starvation of resources to other parts of the Cosmic Man: we are a diseased Cosmic Man!

Does the liver shirk its duty to the whole? does it question it? rebel?  Does the heart, brain or lungs?  These essential organs serve selflessly throughout life. Kidneys and liver will continue to clean the blood, even to their own detriment.  They serve until they can serve no more, and in so doing, they contribute to giving us a rich life experience.

We are utterly dependent on the organs in our body, and they are also dependent on each other.  All of them perform their functions dutifully – they have no conscious awareness we know of, but they express ‘divided unity’ perfectly.

If we accept that we stand equal and side-by-side with the planets, the animals, the plants and the minerals, then it also means with each other.  And with that comes the realisation that we have a due responsibility to those we stand shoulder to shoulder with.

The age old question in Genesis of ‘Am I my brothers keeper?’ is clearly answered ‘yes’. We are the keeper of the space we find ourselves in.  We are responsible for the actions and consequences of what we do with the space in which we find ourselves.

The sun, moon and stars, the wind, the waves, all perform their functions seamlessly.  They take their responsibility to the rest of life, and in so doing, they give us, and each other, a richer life experience.  This is the reward and beauty of divided unity.

For humanity, divided unity is an attainable goal, unlike the ideal of unity, which seems so distant and unreal.  It is a natural step, really, one where we simply organ-ise in a more altruistic and inclusive way.  Sharing our resources like the organs of the body do, and holding none to ransom.

This will reap other rewards in terms of human disease and evolution, since our race reflects as a whole our behaviours as a whole.  So we have cancers and body-attacking diseases, why? Because we attack and mutate the body of the Whole with our behaviours.  Eradicating those behaviours, under the Law, will eradicate those diseases and ailments.

As you can see, just as molecular analysis reaped massive rewards for physical science, so can ’syllabic molecule’ analysis do the same for ideas and understanding.  This is seen time and time again when looking at interesting, quirky or powerful terms using the Science of Sound.

Divided Unity has much more to reveal to us,  Its two syllables also represent the Masculine and the Feminine, both of which are also expressed throughout manifestation.  Understanding how these two stand in perfect complimentariness can lead to massive leaps of personal development and relationship healing. The analogy of the body can also be taken further when the chakras and energy centres are looked at with the perspective that some of us actually ‘represent’ and specialise in the overall expression of that centre in the Cosmic Human.

These other aspects will be discussed in the next installment of the analysis of ‘Divinity’
